“Born and bred in East London, Glyn attended Selborne College where his immense appetite for sport – rugby in particular – was sufficiently appeased. After leaving school, his rugby pursuits opened many doors to travel internationally. From New Zealand and Australia to all over Europe and back across to Asia. Even though his sole focus on all of these occasions was to play sport, he always had a side interest in property and particularly how the different markets, the physical structures and the industry in general, were so unique in each country. After countless injuries on the field, Glyn moved from a “player’s role” into a “coach’s role” and took up the Sports Coordinating position at a high school in Durban. In 2013 the call to “come home to his Eastern Cape roots” was too strong to ignore; so he and his wife Juanita, packed their things to set off on a new adventure to the Bay of Blessing! His time back in Port Elizabeth has been fantastic and enriching in so many ways! Not the least of these is the growth in his immediate family from 2 members to 4: his son, Joel-Luke (4 years old in 2018) and his daughter Alexis (2 years old in 2018) are the gifts that just keep on giving! Whilst his time back in P.E. hasn’t been without its challenges, the tremendous support from loved ones and a blessed relationship with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, has been the fuel to keep his focus strong and his outlook positive.
Since joining the Harcourts team in 2013, Glyn has made it his primary goal to ensure his client’s best interests receive pole position! He is dedicated, articulate, knowledgeable and committed to customer satisfaction! His unrivalled customer service has resulted in a continuously expanding network of loyal clients and referrals. Passionate to his craft, he continuously seeks to stay ahead of the game when it comes to market education and trends. Whether you need to sell or buy a home, Glyn has your back!”
Des Westcott – Property Consultant
My Real Estate Career started in 2016 with Harcourts Grahamstown and I have subsequently relocated to Harcourts Summerton in Port Elizabeth. I attended Graeme College and matriculated in 1982 having captained the 1st XV and having represented them on 56 occasions I owned the award winning Wimpy in Grahamstown for 17 years and also opened the Mugg and Bean in 2015. I decided to change career paths and have always been excited by the property industry. I am an avid sports fan and support the Springboks, Manchester United and Ferrari and enjoy watching the “Tour de France”. I have travelled extensively internationally and enjoy meeting new people and experiencing different cultures.
I am currently employed as an intern agent at Harcourts Summerton and enjoy great support from my colleagues who have helped to grow Harcourts Summerton into a highly reputable company known for a great sales record and value added service.
MY PROMISE TO YOU
If during our mandate period to market your property, I do not fulfil any of my promises and action steps explained to you, I request that you bring that to my attention and give me 48 hours to rectify the shortcoming to your satisfaction.
If I cannot fulfil my promise, you have the right, without any further obligation, to terminate our mandate.
I have been part of the Harcourts Summerton team since I started in real estate in 2004. The need to be qualified is key to this business and also being part of this team has always given me the confidence to carry out my duties as a qualified agent.
I have met and made wonderful friends along the way. When listing a property or when working with a buyer, it is always very important to keep in constant contact keeping everyone in the loop. As I work in all different parts of this city, I get to meet people from all walks of life, which makes this job very interesting, everyone with their own story to tell.
I can still remember when taking my first offer on a property, which was listed privately by the owner, the palms of my hands were sweating and I had this knot in my stomach, but by the time every had signed, and it was a done deal, it felt like a million dollars.
I believe that the real estate business will continue to be part of who I am for many years to come, as sticking to what you enjoy makes it all the more easier.
Having been part of the property market since 1990 as you can imagine I have seen a lot of changes in the business, when I first started the only way to send documents was via fax. Now emailing all over the world is possible. Communication was also limited, there were no cell phones, first we had pagers, then the cell phone became the order of the day, and now with smart phones everything is just at your finger tips. Buyers have also changed the way they purchase properties most of the clients come from the internet, not the property papers. Purchasers have become far more informed about market trends. Even with all this modern technology I believe personal contact is of prime importance.
